Get a nutritious start to your day with fresh tomato, carrot, apple, or orange juice--or invent your own healthy blend. This powerful (and some would say noisy) 600-watt juicer churns out a quart of juice in just one minute. An extra-wide feed tube saves chopping time since it accommodates whole tomatoes, carrots, and small apples, and the removable parts make this one of the fastest juicers to clean. To operate, simply turn the juicer on and insert washed whole or chopped fruits and vegetables through the feed tube--pulp and seeds will shoot out one side into the provided pulp container, and juice will pour out the spout. To catch the juice, you can use either a glass or a provided juice container with lid. The juice container features a handy divider to separate the juice from the froth when pouring. Weighing thirteen pounds, the juice extractor measures 15 by 6-1/2 by 16 inches and comes with a one-year warranty. A helpful instruction booklet that includes tips and recipes is included to get you started. This is a factory-reconditioned juicer which includes a 90-day manufacturer's warranty.

4Works well, but sounds like a freight train...  Mar 27, 2008
I bought the refurbished model and at $70, I consider it a great deal. Quality of construction is excellent - it is a very simple design, but does its job well. I expect this juicer to last a long, long time.

Really the only negative is the noise. It is about as loud as a blender, to be fair, but not exactly something you want to use with people sleeping in the house.

Clean up is super easy. Just rinse the plastic parts and gently scrub the metal strainer immediately after using and you won't have any problems. Wait for the pulp to dry on to the parts and you'll have to put it all in the dishwasher.

4Don't Fall Victim To The Snobs  Feb 10, 2008
I have been a 'juicer' for a little over 15 years. And, after reading some opinions here and elsewhere, I have realized just how snobby some people can be when it comes to recommending a juice extractor for others. First, when looking for an extractor, it has to be easy to clean. I have owned or have operated a lot of the expensive machines listed here. Most are a pain in the rear to take down and clean. Human nature dictates that people will take the path of least resistance and juicers are no exception. If it is easy to clean you will use it more often. And 'often' is what you want to do when it comes to juicing. It matters not - how much juice a machine puts out or how dry the pulp is if one does not use the machine. The next thing you look for is the size of the machine. If you are able to keep the machine on your counter, the more often you will use it...see #1 above. Third, look for quality. Do your due-diligence and look around the web for reviews. Breville has always made quality juice extractors. Once the above is considered, look for power. Try and get the most power for you money. Anything over 800 watts is a waste of money for most us who juice daily.

Now for the Breville JE900. It is a good juicer. It is not the most powerful but it is pretty good. Good quality and solidly built. If you look closely at this unit it has a very good on/off switch. Believe me, this is where the trouble starts with the lower end units. The JE900 has a solid toggle switch. The unit is curved with no corners. That makes cleanup very easy. Look for a closure that pulls over the top. Stay away from machines that use a closure that has clips on both sides. Again, wear and tear over the years wear those clips out. The Breville has a single handle clasp that snugs the top to the base and it stands a little over 18 inches or so without the plunger. It fits nicely on the counter top and underneath the cabinets. (Note: The Jack Lalanne and Champion take longer to break down and clean. And both are pretty big.) This Breville unit is loud but not any louder than others I have owned. Bottom line? Don't be swayed by juicers that cost big $$. You can get a quality juicer if you keep your eyes open and pay attention to reviews based on use and not based on elitism.

The owners manual is clear and concise. Make sure you read it. Not all parts are dishwasher safe.

4The whole truth and nothing but the truth  Jan 29, 2008
For the price you probably can't beat it.
It is a pretty D! good machine. I bought both the two speed and the singles speed. Despite what it says about whole apple they won't accept your average Apple's Unless they grow small apples in Australia. Besides it just seems to work better when I run them through an apple peeler. Unless you're dedicated. Go buy your juice at a store. PS I made 2 gallons of juice in less than a half hour.

5Wo!nderful product  Jan 28, 2008
For anyone serious in juicing, Breville is a great product with very fair pricing. The major strengths of this product are 1) the power of the machine (it can juice anything without problem) and 2) the ease in cleaning. Similar features in other products will sell for at least 50% more. I strongly recommend this brand for those serious in improving their health through juicing.

3Nice Overall Juicer  Jan 27, 2008
I purchased this remanufactured juicer from Amazon last month. I have to say that to my surprise, the juicer and all its pieces came well packed. This juicer only has one button, ON/OFF. This means there is only 1 speed on it. The juicer is quite loud and we end up juicing a lot of fruit to get little juice. Since this is my first juicer, I'm not to sure if its this specific juicer or all juicers are like that. However, once you drink the fresh juice, it all seems to be worth while.

As for cleaning, I suggest you clean the juicer soon as you're done juicing because if you wait long, the pulk tends to dry up which makes it more difficult to clean. All-in-all, its a pretty good juicer to use once in a while.
