1Terrible Bread  Dec 01, 2008
This machine is NOT a product I would recommend. I have used another brand machine for years, however this year the kneading pin was tossed out hence a replacement was in order.
After reading about the various models, I selected Panasonic. What's NOT to like, well here goes: the recipe measurements are inaccurate, the machine lacks a window to check on progress, the machine has consistently produced unbaked, half-baked and under baked bread. On-line recommendations have been to 'peek' at various times of the cycle to observe progress but this 'peeking' shouldn't be necessary. Either the machine works or it doesn't. In my opinion this machine does not warrent a place in my kitchen.

5A great breadmaker  Nov 25, 2008
I love this breadmaker. I read lots of reviews before buying and settled on this one. It has exceeded my expectations. Bread comes out great every time. I never made bread much before this, but now I make something at least three times a week. Rolls, bread, etc, it all turns out great. The recipe book is awesome and easy to use. Everybody raves over my bread and I enjoy making it. It couldn't be easier, especially with the yeast dispenser.

4Great machine -- poor directions  Nov 25, 2008
The Panasonic SD-YD250 is an superior breadmachine; quiet, efficient, and very functional - however, the accompanying operator's manual was apparently written by someone who never used the machine. The unit has a prominent top-mounted yeast injection system that the operator's manual identifies as a "feature" to automatically inject yeast at the correct moment for optimal dough development; unfortunately using this feature results in catastrophic loaf failure. The manual advises in another section unrelated to breadmaker operation, that it is critical to add the yeast BEFORE the other dry ingredients at the bottom of the loaf pan to correctly prepare the dough. Adding the yeast at the beginning, corrects the problem with the auto-injector, but raises (no pun intended) the question regarding the need or utility of the top loading yeast injector.

5bread maker  Nov 23, 2008
This bread making machine is wonderful. Never a disappointment.
I like being able to be creative and this product allows me to do that.Seller gave very good information and included a recipe book also.
