Great that is how this product works for me .I was very happy with the quality and very surprized at the way that it cleaned up. I had had presto cookers before but always the aluminum.The stainless is of course much prettier and does a good cooking job. Think no more buy one today.

I can not cook without this pressure pot now a days. it mashes up meat in 20 minutes. a slow cooker will steam up the whole house but this thing does not even let out any cooking smell until the moment you open the lid. the stainless steel looks great , the tank feels thin but does not affect usage. 6 Qt is good size for stewing for a family and 8qt would be too big for stove top .
